SHINIMICAS - Local, organic food is the key to intellectual health and well-being, says farmer Charlie Hubbard.
With over 50 years of farming experience, Hubbard gives talks on organic farming and practices what he preaches with a demostration garden over his 100-acre property.
Hubbard isn't the only one who says local is the way to go, a report released Tuesday by the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture and Ecology Action Centre says about 13 per cent of the province's food dollar goes to local farmers.
