AMHERST - The Amherst Ramblers defeated the Truro Bearcats 3-2 Saturday night at the Amherst Stadium.

With the win, the Ramblers remain undefeated on the season at 5-0.

Amherst took the early lead in the first period with goals from Matt Squires and newcomer Paul Roebothan.

Stephen Horyl replied for Truro four minutes into the second.

Roebothan scored his second of the game and the game winner at 11:29 of the third on a shot that handcuffed Truro goaltender Lev Gammer.

Horyl kept the Bearcats close and made things interesting late, scoring his second of the game with 13.8 seconds left, but that's as close as they would get.

Shots on goal were 41-30 for Truro.

The Ramblers hit the ice again Sunday against the Pictou County Weeks Crushers at 4 p.m.
