Blues hand Scotians first loss of season
The Amherst Daily News
TRENTON – The Cumberland County Blues dealt the Pictou County Scotians their first defeat of the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League season, 5-2 last night.
Cody Roach, Mark Rozak, Ryan Smith, Justin Landry and Murray Bavis scored for Cumberland (9-2-1-0), which trailed 2-0 in the first period, and Andrew Court got the win in goal.
Pictou County’s record falls to 9-1.
“It was a real test for us, and our boys passed,” said Blues head coach Dave Hyatt. “That was probably our best defensive effort all year.”
Cumberland hosts Windsor on Friday at 7:30 p.m., in Springhill.
